SUMMARY:Getting Started with Nature Journaling
DESCRIPTION:Nature Journaling is a practice that combines science and art to create a record of something you observed and experienced in the natural world.  It could be a plant just about to flower. Or a bird calling for its mate. Through the act of drawing and writing you will learn how to really “see” the world around you and develop your observational skills. \nJoin lifelong naturalist and artist Bev Wigney as she shares some of her personal Nature Journaling tips\, tricks and techniques.  There will be art supplies and specimens available to practice with – or feel free to bring your own!  This workshop is open to anyone who would like to learn about Nature Journaling – you don’t need to be an artist to give it a try.  \nFree Workshop.\nMaximum 20 Participants\nRegistration Required – Click HERE to register and secure your spot today!   \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Grounded in Nature with Heron and Wil
DESCRIPTION:  \nFind your grounding\, reconnect with nature\, and cultivate joy in community! \nWith the climate crisis and other challenges shaping our world\, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed\, anxious\, or exhausted. For community members\, advocates\, and volunteers who care deeply about the world around them\, finding a balance between taking action\, managing life’s responsibilities\, and caring for ourselves can be difficult. \nBut caring for ourselves isn’t a retreat from caring for the world. It’s an essential part of sustaining our hope\, resilience\, and capacity for meaningful action. And there’s joy to be found along the way! \nJoin local Nature Therapist Wil Brunner and Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Heron Payne for a restorative day of connection with nature\, ourselves\, and one another. \nTogether\, we’ll explore simple\, accessible practices to support our well-being\, including mindfulness meditation\, gentle nature connection activities\, forest bathing\, and opportunities for meaningful conversation. We’ll reflect on how the challenges of our times affect us\, share experiences in a supportive community\, and make space for the beauty\, wonder\, and joy that nature can offer. \nWhether you’re feeling worn down\, looking to reconnect with yourself\, or simply wanting to spend some nourishing time outdoors with others who care\, this workshop is for you. No previous experience with meditation or nature-based practices is needed. \nCome as you are\, and leave feeling grounded\, refreshed\, and supported by the land\, your community\, and yourself! \nFree Workshop\nSunday\, November 1\, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM\nLocation: Mikey Hill Park\, Milford (indoor backup at Milford Hall)\nRegistration Required! Click HERE to register.  \nNotes about the Workshop\n\n\nWe plan to spend most of our time outdoors at Mikey Hill Park\, exploring nearby natural spaces as participant accessibility and weather allow. In the event of unsuitable weather\, we will gather indoors at Milford Hall. \n\n\nActivities will be gentle and beginner-friendly\, with no strenuous hiking or challenging terrain required. Facilitators will do their best to accommodate different mobility needs. Please let us know of any accessibility considerations when registering. \n\n\nPlease dress comfortably for the weather\, including appropriate footwear and layers for spending time outside in early November. \n\n\nWe will take a lunch break during the workshop – a hot lunch will be provided with Gluten-Free and Vegan option available. \n\n\nChairs will be available\, and participants are welcome to bring anything else that helps them feel comfortable outdoors. \n\n\n  \n \n
