SUMMARY:Forest Walk at Goldsmith Lake
DESCRIPTION:Join Save Our Old Forests (SOOF) and guest hosts Keith Egger and Scott Digweed for a forest walk to explore part of the proposed Goldsmith Lake Wilderness Area. Participants will explore an old forest on the Corbett Peninsula as part of Nature Nova Scotia’s Protected Areas Week. \nKeith and Scott will focus on the mostly hidden organisms that sustain and nurture the forest ecosystem. Keith will share his knowledge of fungi and mycorrhizal networks\, and Scott is a local entomologist who is currently leading the Bug Quest Canada project at Goldsmith Lake. \nFree Workshop.\nRegistration Required: https://forms.gle/Kf3QmmRuuAJehaPD9   \nNote about accessibility: The workshop will take place on uneven terrain\, there may be some tree stumps and other natural obstacles.  \nInformed Consent & Release Of Liability:  Our workshops are a wonderful way to connect to nature\, learn more about our forests and interact with the community\, but it is not without certain risks\, dangers\, hazards\, and liabilities to participants.  We require all participants (or their legal guardians) to complete\, sign and date the waiver before they can participate in the workshop.
