Come explore the Goldsmith Lake Wilderness Area and learn about the about the importance of fungi in the forest. Our guest speaker, Keith Egger will be acting as our guide and sharing his knowledge about the astonishing range of fungal diversity and their roles in the environment as decomposers, pathogens and mycorrhizal symbionts with forest trees.
Keith Egger is a retired professor and mycologist from BC who now lives in the Annapolis Valley. If your sole interest in mushrooms is foraging for edibles this is not the workshop for you as Keith will be focusing on fungal diversity and ecology.
This workshop will be limited to 12 participants and registration will be required. Registration will open in mid-August 2024.
