THE Lineup

10:00 AM PERMANENT RESONANCE
We believe in being a voice for the creatures who don’t have one. If we are heard today then perhaps the creatures of the forests will still be heard tomorrow.
This Trio consists of vocalist Lisa Huyer, guitarist, and vocalist Mike Phillips and vocalist Amanda Sosnowski, who adds a harmonious third dimension. A dynamic repertoire of songs, from a range of genres and decades, that highlight their close three part harmony backed with clean acoustic guitar stylings.
11:00 AM the Res-O-Matics
The Res-O-Matics play down home country blues, with a sprinkle of inappropriate folk songs, swing and show tunes from the 1920s and 30s. Michael Robertson will amaze with his percussive fingerpicking technique on guitar and resonator. Jeff Barteaux creates a tasteful harmonica wall of sound using an impressive array of stomp boxes and a vintage sound system. Alexa Jaffurs keeps things on an easy even keel with the upright acoustic bass.

12:00 pM ALEX & AUTUMN
Alex and Autumn are a couple who grew up in the valley and enjoy playing and sharing some of our favourite folk and country songs we’ve heard over the years.
We are supporting SOOF because living here in Mi’kma’ki means we all share a responsibility to care for the land that sustains us.
For Autumn, as a Mi’kmaw woman, protecting the land is deeply personal. In Mi’kmaw teachings, the forests, waters, animals, and plants are not resources – they are our relations. Supporting the protection of old forests is a way to honour those teachings and care for the land we all share.
1:00 PM BLACK ROCK BUOYS
We feel strongly about maintaining the present forests and are supportive of the Acadian forest model. The SOOFSTOCK volunteers are to be commended on their ongoing initiatives for old forests!
The Black Rock Buoys are a 5 man band from the Black Rock/ Harbourville area of the North Mountain. Our instruments include electric ukuleles, guitar, drums and harmonica. 4 of us sing and enjoy harmony singing together. Our songs range from folk tunes, popular tunes to the blues.

2:00 pM LORNE ALLAN
Lorne is a singer/songwriter who plays guitar. He has been writing and playing since his youth and comes from a musical family. Lorne’s songs tend to reflect the human condition and are inspired by the emotions found in everything, from our sometimes complicated relationships, to the tragedy of war. His style is influenced by several genres including rock, blues, country and folk.
3:00 PM STRATH
Strath is a trad acoustic duo consisting of Scott Henderson and Ashlyne MacRae that pairs deep Celtic roots with sharp, contemporary energy. Scott’s uilleann pipes, border pipes, Scottish smallpipes, flute, and whistles provide a rich, expressive voice, supported by his tasteful accompaniment on bouzouki and guitar. Ashlyne’s virtuosic fiddle and dynamic dance — shaped by training with legendary Cape Breton players and years on national and international stages — add fire, lift, and visual flair to every set. Together they deliver driving tune medleys, haunting slow airs, and foot‑stomping finales, offering an intimate yet high‑impact Celtic experience for concerts, festivals, and listening rooms.

Strath is honoured to bring our music to SOOFSTOCK this year, joining a community that channels the arts toward protecting Nova Scotia’s remaining old forests. As a duo that is rooted in rural Nova Scotia, SOOF’s mission is a cause that resonates deeply with the folk traditions within which we perform.

4:00 pM SHE THE ARCHER
She The Archer is an alternative indie singer songwriter with an eclectic sound and powerful voice. Having written in Nashville and Toronto, she has tuned her craft over the years to create a unique sound to blend with her creative melodies. She The Archer strives to unify her live audience through humour, imagination and impactful storytelling.
5:00 PM ZAKARY MILLER
I am so thankful to everyone involved in SOOF, stewardship in forests and small farms is a huge part of what made me who I am and to see my neighbours preventing the spraying of glyphosates, identifying rare lichen species and protecting everything that makes Nova Scotia a beautiful place, well it’s just darned inspiring. As someone with limited resources, abilities or time in this world, I am indebted to the land defenders and forest protectors in this community. Viva SOOF!

Zakary Miller celebrates centuries of serious artists who didn’t take themselves too seriously. Yodeling, giggling and pointed lyrics all cross paths in his writing as he playfully seeks joy on and offstage.
