We consider all of our supporters, email subscribers and followers as “members” of the Save Our Old Forests Association but as a non-profit organisation we are required to maintain a formal registry of Voting Members. Membership is Pay What You Can with a suggested amount of $20/person or $10/students and seniors. Before joining please ensure that you read through the SOOF Association Bylaws

About SOOF Memberships: 

  • Annual Membership expires on December 31 each year.
  • Members are required to renew their membership annually by March 31 to maintain Active Voting Status in the registry. 
  • SOOF does not offer group or family memberships. 
  • There is one vote per membership. 
  • SOOF is a nonprofit and not a registered charity therefore we are unable to provide a tax receipt.

For New Members joining between October 1 and December 31, 2025 your membership dues will cover the remainder of the year as well as 2026.


MEMBERSHIP FAQ

No.  We like to think all of our supporters “are” members, but as a nonprofit organization, SOOF is required to keep an official registry of Voting Members.  

To become a Voting Member you must complete the Membership Form and be recorded in our Membership Registry.  

All you need to do is complete the Membership Form and we’ll take care of the rest!  You’ll receive a copy of your digital Membership Certificate as confirmation that your registration is complete. 

Membership gets you:

  • a vote at the Annual General meeting and all Special meetings of the Save Our Old Forests Association
  • a Membership Certificate that you can show off to family and friends

No.  We do not off Family or Group Memberships.  There is one Vote per Membership. 

No. SOOF memberships are valid for one-year and expire on December 31 each year.

Yes!  You can fill out the Membership Form for someone else and send us an email at soof@saveouroldforests.ca to let us know where to send the digital Membership Certificate.  We will confirm the details of the registration with you before finalizing the Membership.  

No.  Save Our Old Forests Association is a nonprofit and not a registered charity.  We are not able to offer tax receipts for any financial donations including memberships.
